Love the collect style puller for rifle rounds. A good investment in my opinion.

Noobie Tips: Bullet Pulling

Good post. The collet puller was my first way back when. Used it to pull FMJ bullets from WWII surplus ammo in the '60's. Didn't get my inertia puller until much later. One word of caution using it. You can deform the bullet if you tighten it down too much.NRA Life Member

Yes, It's the .30 caliber collet. the 303 bullets I use are .312, No problem!
The one I use for 9/38/357 is a .35 caliber.Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

That collet die is somehow intriguing me, especially since I'm thinking of some really old handloads that I'd like to take apart (they were loaded by someone else, and were in an ammo can with factory rounds. I have no idea what the bullet weight is, the type of powder, or the charge).
Apart from the puller die and the collet, would there be anything else that would go along with this press that I'm missing? Perhaps something for the ram to hold the cartridge?
The reason for this is I reload on a Dillon 550, and (1) am unfamiliar with single-stage reloaders and the parts needed for them. (2) I might want to pull a bullet in the middle of a loading session and not want to take everything apart on the 550 (or fuss with my old kinetic puller--which is going to shatter one of these days).Comment

The press in the link would work fine. You will need (in addition to the bullet puller die and the proper collets), a shellholder for the calibers you want to pull. Any brand standard shellholder will work in that Lee press (i.e. Lee, RCBS, Hornaday, etc.).That collet die is somehow intriguing me, especially since I'm thinking of some really old handloads that I'd like to take apart (they were loaded by someone else, and were in an ammo can with factory rounds. Thanks Bruce! Something new I need for the reloading bench. I usually don't mind the kinetic puller for the occasional job but when you have a box of reloads you don't trust, this looks like the way to go.NRA Life MemberComment

Thanks! I figured there was something missing, I just wasn't sure what it was called for a single stage press.

Good write up.
The kinetic puller is still useful if you need to pull soft lead bullets, wadcutters or short jacketed bullets such as the Hornady #3005. It takes less than half an hour to pull 50 .223's with the kinetic puller.
Don't ask how I know
