You might want to take a look at this post on the the firing line. I was going to order from Stonewall but decided not too. You can still get the Oregon Trail 200 grain wadcutter for 50.99 + 6.00 surcharge per thousand from Cabelas. I just place another order for 3K. Just search for this item number and you should be straight JH-213648

Those are great prices when you figure in shipping.
        That's like $1.50 cheaper per 1000 9mm's than I am paying.
I don't know that it's worth the $3 to have to wait for them though.

ETA: 15 brinell is pretty soft.
I think the ones I get are around 22 brinnell and they don't lead my barrels.
I'll spend the extra 1.50 per 1000 and support my friend.

Contrary to popular belief, bullets cast too hard can lead barrels too. This is very true in pistols. At the lower pressures generated, and if the bullet is too hard it won't obturate the bore. This lets gasses by the bullet causing a bit of leading. This problem is compounded when using the incorrect lube for the lower pressure pistol calibers.

I've done just fine with 15 brinnell lead bullets, even down to about 12, and had no leading with correct sizing and lube. Now if I just had some 10 cavity 9mm moulds...

            I know.
            I've read my Veral Smith.
I run 0.356" diameter bullets in my 9mm loads.
The lands only have to engrave the bullet, not fill the grooves as my bullets start out above groove diameter.

i was looking for bullets for reloads and came across this site. does anyone agree if this is a good deal? price includes shipping. one of my pistols is a glock 22 and i was told not to use lead projectiles on glocks.

Average to high for Rainier. Berry's is cheaper right now and just as good (or better)

How hard is it to acquire lead for casting in CA? I gather there's a lot of voodoo at even the mention of the word.

                      Just takes money.
Scrap values have gone through the roof on lead.
Unfortunately, the tire stores know this and charge accordingly...
You used to get a 7 gallon bucket of used wheelweigts for $20, but not anymore.
