    Lowest prices on projectiles?

Looking for who has the bomb deal right now on bullets for reloading. I am looking for Ranier. Nothin special, target loads. RN/FP FMJ stuff. I want to order about 2k .45, 2k .40, 2k 9mm, and 1k .38/.357. All of it shipped through Cabelas is $664.81 shipped. Midway USA is $681.87 shipped. Anybody know a cheaper place to order?

$ 660.33 from them. Thanks for the link. Good to know for the future. Looks like their prices are SMOKIN! except for a lead surcharge they currently have

Have you checked out Grafs.com? I know they include shipping in their price, but add a $4 charge per order.

$653.74 for "Berry". I am new and still learning, are these any good? For $10 I think I am just gonna stick with what I know at Cabelas. Plus in a worst case problem scenario I can drive to the Boomtown store if I have issue.

Seems like everyone is pretty close on prices.

all i know is i could make them for about 100. But then you too can make them. so you have to think when do you want to save the cash and start making your own. i can cast 800 bullets an hour with one of my 6 cavity molds. cost of the mold is about 40 bucks. Then you need a melting pot they run around 45. Then you need a sizing kit. you can pick one up for about 15.00. After that you need lead. You can get 60lbs on ebay shipped to you for about 55-60. So you spend a little more now. later on its just the cost of lead thats it. So ya then you too can say i can do it for about 100.00 as thats more or less how much you would spend on lead. If i spend a whole day casting and then next day sizing i can get about 4000 bullets done. So you just need to figure out if your time is worth saving 600.00. Dont know how to cast no problem. this is a guy using a 1 cavity mold. take a look.

I've been dabbling with casting, but my end product hasn't been as consistent as commercially cast bullets. I guess I should go ahead and just remelt the marginal ones and fight the urge to keep them all. Found a couple molds here and there and am trying to find out good alloy, sizing, and powder charge combos.

It would seem casting has potential, but I also would submit that your time is worth something and that one should stock up when you have cash. Supplemement with the odd good deal and a few hundred of your own cast. I couldn';t possibly see casting enough out of two cavity molds. It's still fun when I want to spend a few hours in the garage.

true mike but this guy is looking for a lot of bullets. With that amount he needs to look into casting. i too always look for the deals. Same time once in a while i will buy jacketed bullets. However you can never beat the price once you master the art of casting bullets. Its a totally win situation. You just have to find the time. Yes everyones time is worth something. My time too. Same time i might ask then why do you reload if you can just buy the bullets. your time is worth more. Sometimes its not about the time. You have to plan ahead. Heck i actually got where my supply was running low on bullets. I needed to make some or spend some money and buy some. I opted for taking two vacation days from work. I planned it ahead of time. So that when the day came i woke up early. Turned on my melting pot put the lead in. Made breakfast ate drank my coffe. Then i started casting bullets until around 12 noon. Then i cleaned up. Set up everything to lube them. I tumble lubed them. then took the rest of the afternoon off. The next morning same thing woke up early. Got all the tumbled bullets and started sizing them all. By 11am i had everything cleaned up. by 2pm i actually had over 300 30-30 rifle rounds ready to shoot. Cleaned up and enjoyed the rest of the day off. In those two days i made over 3000 .308 170grn flat nose bullets all lubed and sized. I am still shooting them today. probably in february i will need to do it again. Best part about doing it like this is it still keeps me open for the weekend. To spend family time.

If you're in Lincoln, have you priced them at Sportsman's Warehouse? If you ever get over the hill and down toward Carson City, there's a commecial caster out in Round Hill? If you happen to be in the area (there are several cat houses there) you can buy dirrectly from them and not have to pay shipping.

If you shot cast bullets, that list would cost about $250 from my local bullet caster.
                    He does not ship though.

I am sure casting is in my future, but for now I am new to reloading and want to learn one aspect of the project before taking on another And more importantly, I have a 4 month old and dont want the lead exposure around my home right now.

He's in Ontario and you can pickup at West End Gun Club.
I don't have contact info, but you can usually get him at the action pistol, steel challenge or 3gun matches.
Look around for a D&D bullets shirt and ask for John.

                            Oregon Trail at Cabelas

Cabelas had a deal on Oregon Trail bullets before Christmas. They were approx $50 per 1000. I bought a bunch in 44 mag and have used them, they are pretty good. Check if they still have that deal on.

They are non-jacketed, but don't foul the barrel at mild to medium loads.
