    Miwall reloads...LOOK OUT!

I noticed that some of the rounds that I bought from the OC gunshow had sloppy crimps and didn't feed in my .40S&W CZ. So I decided to inspect the whole 1000rd case. Then I found this...

Remember to always visually inspect these "Factory Reloads"!

    That's crazy!

Hope no damage was done to your rig.

I bought about 2500 rounds of various calibers. I'll check them more closely! Thanks.

Luckily I caught this before taking it out to the range. I haven't had any blow up on me but coincidentally at the range one of the ROs was saying that another customers 92FS cracked the barrel block after using miwall reloads. Scary.

Wow. I guess I'll have to check ones that I buy from them in the future.

Always check your ammo. I've come across name brand factory ammo NIB just as screwed up.

those blocks go all the time anyway.

The round in question would probably not kb your gun, in most cases those would just get stuck on chambering. Definitely a good idea to check though.

                Exactly.

Take the extra second or two when loading your mags and actually give the ammo a quick inspection.

I personally won't buy reloads of any kind. I had some issues in the 90's with some Load-X rounds from the indoor range and swore them off.

I only shoot factory and my own reloads now, If I don't reload them myself, I won't shoot them. Even if they pass a visual check, it's too easy to have an overcharge in many cases, depending on the powder the loader is using.

You are aware that Load-X has been sold to a new owner, right?

Talk to the new owner, Steve. He's greatly expanded the lineup of ammo to include such cartridges as .30 Luger, .400 Corbon, 10mm, .45 AutoRim, .223, .45-70 and more.

I load all my own now.

It just happened to be Load-X that opened my eyes to the need for inspection when buying reloads. No matter who owns them, it's not specific to them in particular.

+1! In '91 I was shooting at a private indoor range in San Luis Obispo and had a round of Elley brown box (left over from the '84 Olympics) rupture in my Mossberg M42 and I could have easily lost my eye! As luck would have it another member of my club, who was right next to me, was a doctor. When it comes to manufacturing ammo, anything can happen. It's the defects that you can't see that scare me the most!

I've seen people report with pictures of bullets loaded backwards.

I had one come loaded with a bullet in upside down in a box of Federal AE

Wow. Been shooting Miwall since 1992. Thousands of rounds of .45ACP, 9mm, .38, .357, .223, .44spl, and .45Colt. Never a problem. 1 in 20 is crap odds for the volume produced.
