Did everyone decide to start loading 45?

Geez... I have gone to multiple sites looking for a 45 plate for my press so I can start putting together some 45 acp. I am surprised at how many places are out of stock on either the Hornady shell plate, the powder through expander or both. I don't think I have found a site yet that has both in stock. Guess I'm waiting or paying a premium having the stuff shipped from multiple places.

I think it's the other way around. The #1 plate is used for .308 and it was also used for .45ACP, but it wasn't a perfect fit so Hornady made the #45 plate. If you load .308 progressively, you can get by with the #1 plate for 45ACP until you find a #45 plate. Just go slow and make sure it doesn't bind up or jam on you. You might also manually remove the finished case from the plate rather than try to force the ejector to drop it into the bin.

Nah... I found 1 place that has one but it's $38 plus $11 shipping. I was trying to get the plate, the ptx, and a couple of other things all in one order to save on shipping. I just found it funny that there is a shortage of components/accessories for the LnL. I guess all the speculation of them selling a metric butt ton of the presses must be true.
I'll just wait till I find a place with all the parts in stock, or until I find one locally. My gun doesn't even come in for another week then the 10 day jail period starts so I won't be shooting it until mid Feb anyway.

yeah and the 9mm plate too, you can get them from hornady but at a hefty price increase

its almost worth it instead of continuing to buy .45

I think so. I am having a tough time getting components from my usual supplier.

I have the #1 shellplate, I'll check the fit and see if I feel comfortable with it.

Lol, I just started loading 45 ACP. But I got my die set and shell holder included with my new Lee Classic Cast Turret press. So it wasn't me that wiped out the stuff you are looking for. 45 is just getting to expensive to shoot otherwise. That's why I bought my loading set p and a Smith & Wesson 22A so I have a cheap handgun to shoot without going broke

Have you seen the price of .45 ACP lately?!?!?! Recockulous!!!

                              I haven't shot a factory loaded .45ACP round in 2-3 years.
