since the rifle is a bolt gun, why not try out the 90gr sierras.

I just took a peek at the Remington site (because 90 grain .224 bullets sound like a ton of fun) and noticed that the SPS stainless in 223 is only offered with a 1 in 12 twist (probably too slow for those long bullets) but the SPS Tactical is available in 1 in 9.Left, not "liberal", not what gets called "left" in American politics, Actually Left, like the government shouldn't be set up to favor certain groups, radically and fanatically left, like the ideas in the American Constitution (except that crap about 3/5ths of a person).Comment

It's not a typo, thats a varmint twist. Most varmint guns are meant to shoot a light bullet fast ie. The 36gr varmint grenade bullets. Even A 1:9 wont stabilize that heavy of a bullet at such low velocities. Theres a chart somewhere that shows bullet stabilization for 1:9 and 1:7 twists. I believe a 68-69gr will only be marginally stable at subsonic velocities for a 1:9, so if you really wanna do this, you'll want a 7" twistComment
