    223 idenification

    bought 50 rounds of ammo in a plastic case for $10 hoping it is 223. looks to be the same size. bottom of case says WCC85. could it be a caliber other than 223? thanx in advance JIM

    western cartrige company manufactured 1985 probably 556 so size it and it will be 223

      is it possible it could be something else? set it beside other 223/556 and it looks close

        WCC is Western Cartridge Company. 85 is the date.

        I believe it's .mil 5.56.

        That's the brass. If it's in a plastic case no telling what's inside it.
