The recent move towards NT ammo (SPP) is kind of dictating that we will be needing to sort our .45ACP by headstamp. I've been doing it that way for a long time. It's really not that big a deal once you get a system down. I have a magnifying visor & a bunch of small tubs from WalMart. I probably take it a bit farther than necessary but that's my OCD.

Give Green Dot powder a try. I use 4.2gr in my target loads. A double won't spill out but it fills the case enough that Stevie Wonder couldn't miss it.
They key is having a good light shining down into the case area.

One of the reasons (apart from the fact that I'm cheap) that I still use a single state to reload handgun ammo is so that I can visually inspect every single round that I make for cracks, deformations, inconsistent powder levels, etc.
So, not to thread jack...but would the powder check on a Dillon 650 alleviate this potential problem...just got a 500 to start loading 45 ACP adn wondering if I would be better with a 650 and powder check?!?!

W231 is good, but I've taken to using Longshot for both 45 and 9mm. Not the cleanest-burning powder, but great velocities and better powder density.

A powder cop, lock out die or RCBS powder check die will work in most any 4 hole turret or a progressive press system. I am going to get a simple one before I load the next 1000 rds. ...and no more TV when I am charging cases!

Wow, that's almost exactly what I'm loading. I've got 5.1 gr. 231 under a 230 Zero JHP, and it shoots great.
