Carpet, spilled powder & primers, static electricity plus a shop vac equals a big boom!

Yes..I think the law is if you are a reloader no cars are ever allowed in the garage. (at least that's what I told my girlfriend ) and seriously I've never had a car in my garage. Either a workshop or a reloading room or both.

I had carpet installed in my garage. I don't have problems spilling powder or worry about explosions. What it does is keep my feet comfortable and makes my Man Cave nice. I run a neat, well organized reloading operation and I want a comfortable room with all my reloading gear, gun tools, vices, bandsaw, drill press, compressor (Steve) and opposite I have a fully stocked refrigerator. Keep your reloading area clean and comfortable..

I see this stated often, but I don't believe I've ever seen/read any conclusive evidence or even anecdotal stories confirming that vacuuming small amounts of gunpowder will cause an explosion...anyone?

wow. My buddy keeps getting on me to build a workshop in my garage, and now I've got some prior art to work from!

                      Thx for sharing!

I'm doing the other two walls of the garage this Christmas break. I think I get 3 weeks off, I'm a teacher.

One wall in going to be a laundry area for the wife. The other wall will be mine. I want to incorporate my safes into the cabinetry somehow.
Maybe you could anchor the safes into the concrete floor and just build a cabinet around them to make it look cleaner?

It's actually pretty cheap to do all this work yourself. The whole project only cost $600. Including everything but the press. It's just time and motivation that I lack
That really isn't bad at all and it looks damn nice. I think I'm going to build my own workbench here soon, but it isn't going to look nearly that nice.

That was no problem till I got married. But Married law says Wifey has to keep her Garage Queen in the Garage.....hence my remodel of the Man Cave, so I had room to be a man w/o rubbing the Queen....
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

I don't know about gunpowder, but I can say from experience you never, ever want to spray WD-40 into a canister vacuum motor in an attempt to silence the squealing bearings and then step on the switch.

Especially if the pile of shrapnel that used to be a vacuum was borrowed from your mother-in-law.
