Powder by the pound honestly I wouldn't have even thought about doin this. $21-22 a pound there's a few local shops that are close enough. It only starts to make sense to do this when you get near the $500 mark. Less than that I'd either pay the difference or wait untill someone else took on the job. Sounds like grafs has the prices to beat on cci primers. All told I will be happy if I can get 5% off and split/eliminate hazmat shipping.

As for sending payment a stamp is cheaper than gas.... Paypal is even cheaper than that.

The guy that was doing the group buy up north didn't have paypal or take credit cards or checks, since they have to clear and he didn't want to wait for all that to happen. So it was a 70 mile round trip...Around here, powder is $30 a pound, primers $35-45 per thousand, plus tax and gas. So it was a no brainer to go mail order.

I'm trying to figure out which powder to use in .223, so buying 5 different powders in one pounders was the way to go before I start buying 8 pound jugs.

The Widener's powder is new, but you can only use it in a .50 BMG or 20MM. Not allowed to own either one in Cali.....The surplus powder at Hi-Tech is what I was referring to, you can use it in all the stuff we're still allowed to use. The powders I got from Graf are the supposed equivalent to those surplus items.

The spp210 is new, the other two are the reclaimed powder from pulled down ammo. I bought 748, H335, H332, BLc-2, Tac to try out. Except for Tac, all the others are supposed to have similar burning rates to the surplus stuff. Once I figure out which of them works the best with my gun and bullets, then I'll probably go the surplus route for the blaster ammo, still going to use the good stuff for the accuracy loadings.

I would be down for some 844 and 231 if the prices are right.

Seems like all the group buys are down south, nothing in the valley or Ventura Co.
