I think primers are about $30 at Philips Wholesale in Covina.Ronald Reagan once said that the most terrifying words in the English language are: "I'm from the government and I'm here to help".

That would be considered a decent price at my local stores but I would never pay that.
The site I buy primers from charges $25 per thousand. I buy they 10k at a time so shipping and hazmat doesn't really have that much of an effect. After everything I'm paying around $3 per hundred.Last edited by XDRoX; 08-25-2011, 2:56 PM.Chris

Sweet. Im gonna keep looking around
As for that gun store owner, screw him anyway. Im not against making a profit, but thats just straight out trying to rape your customers. I will never buy anything from him, i'd be happy to just leave it at that. And if you buy a gun online and do the transfer through him, he wants $100 plus fees.Show your friends your 1911's and your enemies your glocks!

certainly not a rip off, not the best price either. Primers are cheap. Stock up as much as you can. There was a time durring the run 2 years ago where you couldn't even FIND primers. If I had the money, I'd buy 100,000 primers and be set for life. I probably wont go through themComment

not a ripoff, here primers are $3.99 to $4.20-ish depending on what you want. I support my local guys when buying in small quantities. While it's tough to justify 1,000+ primers from the local guy, some times you just need that 100 here or there. It's only 4 bucks.Comment

My local gun shop sells 100 LPP for 3.75. I usually just buy a 1000 count case for 37.00. A case of 1000 SPP is 34.00 i think. IMO its not bad, surely not great, but im not reloading thousands of rounds a month. I reload small quantities on my single stage so it works out just fine for me.Last edited by Thomas1190; 08-25-2011, 11:34 PM.Comment

I say save up and buy at least a year's worth at once.. you can get some pretty good deals from powder valley and if you have some friends willing to do a group buy, pretty soon that $20 or $25 hazmat/shipping comes down to something like $1/1000 or $1/lb.. When they ran the Buy 2 sleeves of Tula primers and get free hazmat/shipping.. that was a screaming deal.. primers were $20/1000... and then you could add anything else you wanted up to the limit that fits in a shipping box..Comment
