~$120 per 500..... not cheap neither..... if anyone else have a "cheaper" source... pls post....

A lot of us are shooting Nosler tho, altho currently out of stock, Nosler Custom Competition 168gr from their own website is $165 per 1000...... and they shoot as good as SMKs.

With the prices of SMK's now-a-days, I don't know why anyone bothers with them anymore. Bought 1K at a time, I get 155 gr Lapua Scenars cheaper than the SMK's, and they outshoot the SMK's quite easily. If you like 168's, the Nosler CC's are just as good and a lot cheaper. For me, there isn't a reason to shoot the 175 SMK's at 2700fps when I can get the 155 Scenars, with a higher BC than the 175 SMK, going upwards of 2900 fps. Run the numbers. It just doesn't make sense.

        Widener's reloading has the 168 grain 30 cal SMK's for $22/100 or $108/500.

500 shipped to CA (via UPS) would be about $13

Guess I'm old school with my 175SMKs. Anyway I buy them at Powdervalley. I like buying everything at once from one source.

Powder Valley has the best price. I usually get them all in the same order with my Varget and WLR's or 210's.

In my Lapua cases, I run 45.5gr Varget for about 2875 fps. I'm using old military brass right now with 44.8 gr Varget for about 2850. My new lot of Varget seems a little slower than the last. Not a big deal to me for the added gains in temperature stability.

I have a box of 155 AMAXs and 155 SMKs at home that I've been meaning to experiment with. Do they really kick 175s butt with the wind?

Maybe it was just luck but I did not notice a big dif in my ammo from baking in the sun during the class. I am running 175s with 41.5g of IMR 4895 in lc brass with cci br primers. POI was barely different and removing adjustments for the position of the sun it was the same. Maybe the smoke colored cases I use helped.
