Based on this thread I had to go out and try a 9 oz can (good for ~600 cartridges vs ~200 with a pound of 110, it really IS cheaper!) of Trail Boss. And I am very impressed. As promised, the max load of trailboss in a 45 colt vs just above a min load of H110 with the same bullet is really really different.

I like it alot. I sprained my wrist 2 weeks ago and can still shoot all day on Trail Boss. Just a few cylinders of H110 colts before I fatigue my weak wrist.

    I am impressed.

      Unique for handgun and shotgun.

      H335 for my .223 and sometimes 7.62x39.

For .45 Colt, it's Titegroup for its position-insensitivity and remarkable flexibility.
Cowboy, I wish you lived closer, I have a can of Titegroup you could have that I ran a couple of ladders with and I just couldn't warm up to it. I am not saying that this is a bad powder, it's just ...well... different strokes, you know what I mean.

I am with Emma, I like Trailboss (Cherrios).

I use N320, N330 and Trail boss mostly as far as side arms is concerned as well as H110.

RE 7, IMR 4895, Varget, N133, H335, IMR 4064, and RE22 are my most used Rifle Powders and

Herco and Green Dot for 12 Gauge slugs and 00 Buck shot.

I still have alot of other powders in my powder stash, but these are my favorites right now.

I wish YOU lived closer so I could snag a sample. I'm using trailboss for the <1000fps colts and H110 for the magnum colts, 454's, and 460's, and am looking for a powder to try ~1600 fps rounds for a medium velocity cartridge. I settled on Accurate 5744, but titegroup gets me just under 5744 velocities but still larger than trailboss.

Yeah... I hear ya, White R.

I would love to help you out.

If you make it down south, bring down some of that 44 Mag brass you aren't using and you can have the can of Titegroup. Heck, I have 460 S&W dies so you could even use my cave. I gotta say though, I like H110 even though it is a bit rough on the wrist.

Oh yes. H110 in 45 colt recoils not much less than factory 454 in my pistol. No worries about the dies though. My 460 dies are getting plenty of use.

Well, it used to be Titegroup, but Trail Boss has taken over. Even out of a 9oz bottle, I can make it last and it makes a fun round to shoot.

                    I've used SR-4756 in the 45ACP for years. 231 for 38 & 296 for 357 Mag.

Audredger, Does 296 fill up the 357 cases? I am looking for a good powder that will nearly fill a 357 case with my 158GRRN for plinking.

When I think of w296 (assuming it really is the same as H110), I don't really think of plinking rounds. But the load data I've seen for it would fill the case. In fact (if H110 clone) the internet tells me (and the internet is always right) that NOT filling the case can lead to problems.
