It's a great kit! Lyman and Hornady also make a kit. I think the Hornady kit is a better value. In reality, you won't go wrong with any of the above selections.

Great kit! That is what I started out with way back when. I think mine came with the RCBS case trimer also. Paid around $150.00 through Midway. Still have all of it today, even though "Blue" is now my color by choice.

You're asking, I'm saying: go with the RCBS. You cannot go wrong. Yes, it is a damn good starting kit. You might add some things down the road, but to get started, you're good. More info; just ask.

You will not need a case trimmer if you only load pistol cartridges. You will want a bullet puller and a caliper.

                    calipers

Look in the "Midsouthshooterssupplys.com" catalog. Lyman, RCBS and others.
They are fairly inexpensive[$20.00-$30.00], and worth every cent.

Most of the inertia (hammer) pullers are the same. My calipers are the $20 ones from harbor freight and work great.

If you ever make it out to the sacramento area I will let you try my presses to let you try the process. I personally have 3 lee set ups. The Lee classic loader which cost $30.00, uses a non marring mallet and takes a good minute per round. I also have a 4 stage turret press that I love which will do 50 rounds in 12 minutes. I just got a Breech lock challenger press kit as a back up and could do a box in 20 minutes and probably faster if I bulk loaded 100 rounds at a time. The Lee stuff is much cheaper and works great. My powder dispensers are very consistant The scale works fine ( it's just really touchy ).

This sounds that it may save some $$$ Can anyone advise on quality between this http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct...tNumber=423081 and the RCBS ?

Search ebay for Mitutoyo calipers. These are some of the VERY best and can be had for under $50. Worth their weight in gold! +1 on the RCBS kit. Buy it!
Will trade liquor/wine/beer for parts and accesories and ammo! PM me. Dont drink n shoot. Offer void where prohibited. Must be 21 or older, etc. etc.

The Rockchucker is way overbuilt, no question. The thing was originally designed for swaging bullets. Among single-stage presses, it's a whole lot of press and one of the finest.

However, even full-length resizing something like .338 Winchester Magnum, you don't really need that kind of swaging-level power. The Lee Challenger Kit that in that link will do a mighty fine job of resizing nearly anything you put in it. How do I know it'll easily handle .338 Win Mag? I know someone who does just that on his Challenger and loves it.

The short answer: for what you're talking about, you'd be well served by either kit. Basically, pick one and get goin'. :-)
