    Anything wrong with this ammo?

Well I have some ammo that looks like the bullet is seated a bit to deep. At first I thought it was bad but after taking the pictures it does not seem that bad as I originally thought. I figure I would post it and see what everyone thinks. All the ammo in these pictures are Factory. I am worried about the round in the middle.

    From left to right.

Do you have anymore of the ammo in question to compare with it...take a picture of 3 rem UMC next to each other.

Yea I have around 500+ of the UMC left and it is all the same and they are from different batches. I had some UMC that was a little bit older and from a different batch but a tiny bit longer so I don't know if they started seating them a bit deeper now or what?

UMC is known to have a shorter OAL. Whether this is because that was the way Remington intended them to be, or because of set back from heavy weights on top of them, they work just fine. I've fired hundreds of UMC through my P-01 without any issue.

Doesnt look that bad. If you were talking defensive ammo, or +P id worry about the increased pressure from the bullet setback.

Different batches. Would not worry about it.

I was worried about over pressure but I talked to someone that told me even set back that far it would not even be in the range of +p pressure. Someone else told me not to shoot them as it would cause to much pressure and could cause issues. To be honest I have shot around 500 rounds of it so far without a problem but figured I would still ask.

If this is 9mm it looks like the middle one is 115gr & the right is 124grn?

Not all ammo is loaded to the same OAL. Bullets vary in profile even within the same category. 9mm ammo OAL varies from 1.010" or so to 1.169".

I wouldn't worry about it unless it seems "off" when shooting. From what I've seen, 9mm tends to have much more variation in OAL amongst factory loads than most calibers.

In my experience, Remington UMC has a shorter OAL compared to most other factory ammo on the market. Should not be a problem though. However, when you take them out of the box, lay the trays flat and take not of the rounds towards the edges. Some of them may be set back severely. I usually just toss those rounds out.

Depends on the bullet weight and shape, 115gr will look different that 124, 135, 147s.

If you want consistent ammo at the length you want, reloading is about the only way to get it to your liking. If the factory ammo is seated that way and they are all that length, I seriously doubt the lawyers would allow the factory to sell something that is dangerous.. shoot it and don't worry about it.. if Factory ammo blows up your gun, then call the factory and ask them to fix your gun.
