Cool beans, how about the rest?...total time is still at least twice as much as the 550B

The LNL can be fitted with a case feeder, so the optimization of the case/bullet feed manual insert is moot. I mention this because it's really not an "available option" but instead is one of the expected features of a full-on progressive along with auto-indexing (on the less-expensive end the Lee LoadMaster has both off the shelf). Like a turret press, the 550 is somewhere in the middle between a single-stage and a progressive: it's able to do all stages in parallel but requires manual intervention for several items.

No... it is a progressive press.

A turret can only do one function at a time where as a 550b can do multifunctions of a finished round from beginning to end at a time, thus a manuel indexing progressive press.

P.S. El Nino, great thread, and extremely helpful.

You can do the same thing with the Dillon XL-650, one case at a time in the drop tube and you have an auto indexing single stage machine.

I'd like to see a similar video showing the LNL w/casefeeder vs the 650 w/casefeeder

Problem is pricepoint and it would not be a fair comparison as the XL650 cost at least $150 more... but to me, I see the extra $150 worth it and no I do not bleed Blue

True, but also, as shown in the videos above, I think that 550b probably cost about double that LNL.

BTW, that dork loading on the 550b crushes a case at 6m55sec
                    Pretty entertaining.

Caliber changes should be done at the end of your current reloading session, that way when you start your next session it's ready to go. I hate doing caliber changes at the start of a session. I personally feels it digs into my reloading time.

If you look at the basic unit cost the LNL $439 and the 550B $429, the guy in the video has a strong mount $45 and a upgraded handle $47..

But doing the conversions at the end of your session would cut into the time of that session wouldn't it

Plus, do you really know what specific caliber you want to load next.. For me, it kind of depends; if I have time, I would crank out a ton of 223 for storage (can't have enough of 223) or if I plan on taking a client/friend out shooting, it would be caliber specific as it will be tailored to that particuler client. For me with 9 different calibers, it does not make sense to set up after. Now if you are just loading for 9mm and 223 than it's a differnet story.

100% true, you can never have enough 223 REM, 00 Buck 12g shells, and 45 ACP. Didn't you guys hear??? the CDC issued a statement that we should be prepared for a zombie holocaust.
