    Casting and Jacketing Bullets

So I've been doing a lot of research on reloading and casting lately as I am going to be making the plunge within the next year or so. One thing I cannot find is how to jacket a cast bullet. My Google- and Youtube-fu seem to be failing me.

Can anyone explain the process behind jacketing cast bullets or give me a link to the process?

    Thanks guys!

Swaging -- generally speaking there are two styles od swaged bullets -- One is the half/three quarter jacket and second is full jacketed.
For a 30 cal swaged bullet, as an example, a 5 /16" dia cup or "jacket" is placed in a die and a 1/4" dia slug, slightly heavier than the desired final weight, is placed in the cup. This die is then mashed into another die to form the bullet nose. Many different weights and shapes of bullet can be made.
There are other sources of swaging dies but corbin has a web site that gives reasonable info -- Also CH4D --
If you are really interested pm me and I will email a couple photos of some of the dies.

somepeople have electroplated their bullets but it is generally more expensive to cast then plate your own then just buy fmj

the whole point of casting is saving money

i had to do a lot of work to get my cost below the 7 cents each that is bear creek and if anybody knows me from other casting posts know that i am barely one step above caveman casting

what are you planning on casting for. You can really cast for most rifles, and if properly lubed and gas checked, you don't need them to be
jacketed. I cast for my AK and SKS, and they are not running at the same velocity as jacketed, but the accuracy is even better then wolf out to about 100 yards.

I hate making posts from the IPhone they always come out jacked up and you can't edit
              them.
