I saw that the other day when someone linked there about case gauges.

It must have just gone up thursday or friday because I'm certain I was looking at the old site tuesday or wednesday.

I might have posted about this "improvement" a little too early....

Altho it IS new.... it is still NOT very user friendly.... ie. freaking SLOW...

I might have to call them and bitch about it again...

I think that's why they still need to sent out their catalog... ha ha ha

Nice, but almost unusable for those of us on dial-up.

            News flash.
Web designers are no longer considering the bandwidth constraints of a 56K user.
I used to keep all images I would use on a website down to 10K or less.
Now I don't even think twice about using a 70K image.
The quality is SO MUCH better and 95% or more of the people likely to be viewing it are on broadband connections now.

It's time for you to step up to broadband.
It really IS worth the money.

There's still quite a few places where you can't get broadband (or where broadband is a 128k line). Within CA, there aren't very many of them - but outside, there's a fair number of them.

This is still the best place to buy Dillon products.

Shipping prices are nice and Brian offers awesome customer service, not that Dillon service is bad or anything.

I work for Cisco, so I do appreciate the value. However, your answer is predicated on the assumption that I can get some kind of broadband -- I can't. Despite living only 10-miles from San Jose (ya know: the Heart of Silicon Valley), our little community doesn't have access to either DSL or cable. We don't even get coverage from the Mickey Mouse 802.11 wireless network up here.

I've used internet cafes up in the Golden Triangle near the Laotian border, yet here, 10 miles from hi-tech Ground Zero, there's no access. You'd think Verizon's business manager would be acutely embarrassmed, but no.... there's not even plans to deliver DSL to our bunch of houses.

                        Satellite broadband.
We use it in Mexico at our beach house.

                          I considered it, but:

                          1. It's expensive
                          2. Subject to outages/slow-downs when the satellite and sun are close (thermal noise goes up)
                          3. Latency. Can't really use advanced services like VoIP and the like.

Can you use those services on a 56K dialup?

If your neighbors are close enough and willing to share costs, see what Verizon will sell a t1 or t3 connection for. Then use your company's product to switch some 'longrange' wireless routers on the network and share the connection between yourselves. An internet 'co-op' if you will...
(or run fiber or cat5, if you can get away with it there)
