    Am I Screwed ?

My brother loaded up about 5000+ rounds of 223 , he isn't the brightest & that's my fault for not double checking everything . All the ammo he loaded is having headspace issues & will not seat all the way . Is it possible to fix this or is he catching a beating & pulling bullets for the rest of his retarded life ?

    Beating.

Did you case gauge the rounds? Is it the shoulder or the trim length? Probably not a good idea to size live rounds. Sell them as components and start over.

you can fix the rounds. they make a body die that will fix your problem. i had 2k of 223 that were processed incorrectly and none of it would chamber. after running the body size die, it was good to go. the die is a SB redding 223 body size die. grafs has it.

as for your bro, the beating will be sizing those rounds....they have to be done one at a time, and with lube! otherwise they will get stuck....after 5k i will bet that he wont do that again!

This. Use a body die and you'll be ok. Not a problem doing it to the loaded rounds. No big deal. I've done it before.

A body die won't cause the neck to stretch causing oal problems?

nope. it does not even touch any part of the neck...it only hits the bottom of the sholder and the entire case. the Small base die will help even more.

Don't be so hard on your brother, he thought he was doing something good. If he does it again, ban him from guns for the rest of his life. If he hadn't have done this, you would never know how to fix it and you would be ignorant. You owe your brother a big thank you for expanding your horizon. (Said with tongue in cheek)

Years ago, I also learned the hard way. It was also with .223 ammo in an AR-15. The sizing die wasn't bumping the shoulder back enough and the ammo wouldn't chamber. All it took was turning the sizing die 1/8th of a turn clockwise to get the ammo to chamber. I used a collet bullet puller to fix the mistake.

When first setting a sizing die up for a new rifle, it's not a bad idea to make up 5 or so dummy rounds (with a properly seated bullet, but no primer or powder) and check for functioning before going into full production.

I once put too much roll crimp on my 300 win mags....I removed the decapping assembly and ran the rounds trough it. It sized the shoulders back down and they worked great. I've reloaded those shells several times since then, no permanent damage.
