I've not had any problems with Wolf in any of my AR's. Even didn't have any problems in a full auto M16 with a 100 round beta mag. Actually, i did have a problem, 100 rounds only lasted about 8-10 seconds.

your going to get mixed views on this - accuracy, cleanliness, reliability, and even safety of ammo.

Some people use wolf in their AR's and think its just fine - no problems or issues
Others wont take a case even if its free
Edit: Ok they might take it if its free.... to try and trade it for something else

I love the stuff. It is my primary ammo. I have a lot of brass ammo (AA, SS109, Guat, etc) but kinda scared to use it since it is so expensive now a days.

I have heard that fouling with Wolf gets so extreme at about the 700 round point that you have no choice but to clean your weapon. But most Wolf I ever used at one range session was 500 so it does not apply to me

When I got my CMMG upper there was a little note in the package that said if you use wolf ammo through it then they will throw the warranty out the window....

Thats enough for me not to use it

Only failure I have ever experienced from wolf .223 was my in my buddies mini-14. The case stuck in the chamber and the extractor ripped a hole in the rim of the case. A cleaning jag took care of it. No other problems the whole day and accuracy was fine for target shooting.

Thanks for the heads up. I've fired upwards of 2000 rounds of Wolf .223 in my AR's and Mini-14 with no problems. Same for the 7.62x39 in my SKS. The groups aren't great, but if you are using Wolf when hunting an elusive computer monitor, Sub MOA is probably not a major concern. Just clean the gun when you are finished and everything will be fine.

CMMG sounds like a bunch of %$&!@ to me.

If your gun cannot shoot wolf then it has bigger problems.

Wolf is a distributor, not a manufacturer. Well, they're a manufacturer that acts as a distributor for other folks' stuff. You never know what you're going to get with Wolf.

Ask rssslvr - his FAL suffered a kB from Wolf 308. When he called 'em up, they didn't act as if it were unusual at all! Turns out there were a few 308's getting blown up by that bad batch.

Their quality control is kinda sporadic since they source their ammo from different places on occasion. There was recently a batch of Wolf 7.62x39mm that was damaging SKSes.

I have and will continue to accept free Wolf ammo. It is quietly set aside, not for trading, but as SHTF ammo. I know there is no way I'm going to shoot that stuff through my guns UNLESS it's the end of the world, so it's always going to be safe from joining my target practice stash!

That having been said, I refuse to look down on a company for saying that Wolf voids their warranty. It's their right, and frankly based on the disproportionate number of kB's from Wolf, it's probably a good choice.

That having been said, Wolf actually paid to have rssslvr's FAL fixed. I have a hunch that a few of the manufacturers told Wolf that if they didn't start covering the cost of repairing guns damaged by their ammo, that they were all going to start doing what CMMG still does. Of course, that's the sort of smoke filled room back-door dealing that we're unlikely to ever get a straight story on - it's just my personal theory.
