With just a thin screw driver you could have hammered the case out and your die might have been ok.

    Use a de-primer full length re-sizer .

This is the first time I ever read someone resizing with a live primer.

Nice racks are much better. You can grab both sides of the rack to help stabilize while mounting.

I had 3 stuck cases in .223 when I was using Hornady One Shot lube. With either Dillon or RCBS lube no stuck cases.

I made a stuck case remover kit out of a 1/4-20nc tap, a 1/2" socket, a 1/4-20 bolt and some washers. Just put the die in your press upside down so the primer pocket is up and drill out the primer pocket then tap it. Set the socket over the case head with the washers stacked on top of it. Screw in the bolt and tighten it slowly. Once the bolt bottoms on the washers the socket will bear against the die and the bolt will pull the case up and out of the die. Then just remember that crisco spray is not the appropriate lube for turning 30-06 brass into 8mm Mauser.

Don't prime before you size since the primer might not like the lube so the round can be a dud or worse. Reread anything and everything you've ever seen on reloading procedures until you can perform all the steps without having to refer to anything. Reloading really can be dangerous and I'd advise against the trial-and-error approach. Maybe you've learned this already: if as an ultra-noob you screw up, don't assume you can fix things -- ask for advice first.

I have both of your posts and I have done exactly what you have done--even the broken depriming pin replaced with a 22-250 or whatever it was. CLEAN YOUR DIES BEFORE EACH USE!!!! I forgot, and sure enough the .223 case got stuck.

I don't clean my dies after each use.Come on guys it's not that hard and I just use a cheap lee press and dies.
Tumble you brass before you re size.

make sure to lube the case's and use a cue tip to swab the inside of the neck with lube it helps a lot for a smooth pull.
Apply the lube with your finger or a roll pad.

I do clean the dies but only when I notice it starting to get sticky but case's properly lubed should never get stuck. IMO

I have read great re views on one shot but I never tried it.

From what I read you have to make sure that the pray get's the whole case so don't spray them in the factory tray. Some people make their own and just drill very shallow holes so that the most of the case get's the wax.
