I also use the red press. Make sure you are using the SMALL pistol insert. The large rifle insert will not meter very well with those small charges. Also, is your press mounted on a SOLID BENCH? if your bench flexes it will cause inconsistent charges. You also have to be CONSISTENT in your operation of the press/measure.
Using the small pistol insert I get +/- .1 grains with the following powders; 231/HP-38, Power Pistol, AutoComp, Unique, Tight Group, Universal Clays, 2400 and HC110.
