Whats wrong with those? Tough to beat the price and they are good bullets. Any 55gr FMJ should do, though. -
Not any 55 FMJ will do, m193 fragments because the jacket is thin enough and the cannelure is deep enough. I have been reading that many commercial 55 fmj only bends in ballistic gelatin instead of fragging.
I was just wondering if anyone out there had a lead just so I could be a good consumer and compare.sigpic

The velocity of the bullet is much more the determining factor in fragmentation than jacket thickness or inclusion of a cannelure. But if your goal is to cause maximum damage you want to get completely away from FMJ. Fine some good soft point .223 bullets. These would be excellent: http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.c...81|293|324|696
For putting holes in paper FMJ are fine.Comment

What he said.. M-193 is a 55g FMJ. BT's are easier to load. If you want a bullet that will decentigrate upon penetration. Try the Hornady Vmax BT w/c. Any bullet will expand to it's max after penetrating 1" of meat and travel (depending on velocity) through the body. If you are target shooting.
It doesnt matter. SP, HP, FMJ, Vmax. Doesn't make a difference on paper. If you are hunting. It makes alot. And that depends on what you are hunting. Vmax and SP are known for decentigration upon impact. Great for 3" thick targets like ground squirrels. Whereas HP and FMJ are known for penetration. Better for deer, etc. If you can't hit just below the spine and through the lungs. You are going to have to follow a blood trail no matter which bullet you use. You want an Magnum FMJ for pig as 38's will just bounce off their skull. If you just shoot targets. Any bullet will due providing you work up a load to your gun.
