Painting bullet tips

I tried to google it but I didnt have any luck. Has anyone tried to paint their bullet tips? I bought some pulled M855 bullets and 90% had the green paint removed. Now that the rounds are loaded up I would like them green tipped as well.

Just for kicks, I once used a black sharpie to color the tips of some 30-06 I loaded for a buddy. I suppose you could get some paint of an appropriate color, and dip the tips.

I've heard of people soaking a sponge with paint and just pressing the bullet tip in to it. Never cared to try it myself so I can't verify it works.

Screw the green, make them something more interesting, like earth tones (in case you want to sell them later).

I'm thinking I can get some .45 FMJ with the flat nose and paint little happy faces on them

A while back there was a post of a guy who made a template that fit down over the top a 50 loaded 223s in a tray over on AR15.com. Then just spray painted them. Will see if I can find the article.

load the 223 on a stripper clip, get a plastic box approx 2-3 in deep.(make sure its wide enough to fit the clip). put the clips projectile donw (DUH!) and poor paint until desired height. then just keep replacing the clip and paint as needed.

I once drew happy faces on the tip of .45acp that I just loaded. I have pics but don't know where it is.

I sprayed a bullet, I don't know if I would ever load it. Spray was thick, and adhesion appears to be poor. I'd hate to clean that out of my chamber.

I used a sharpie to mark the bullet weight on some cases so they didn't get mistaken for lighter-bullet cartridges. It was a new fancy sharpie with an advertised new ink formula. Wrote like a dream on the brass, and was a thin coating. I'd be looking at sharpies. I will definitely be using sharpie to mark out snap caps.
