Don't forget to bolt your press down, either.

What about the anniversary kit vs the challenger kit? It's 10 bucks more so what's the difference?

one comes with a hand prime so you can watch TV and reload.

The other comes with a primer attachment for the press

I do love me some tv.... However I dont want to blow off my hand while watching tv.... Not too dangerous to be involved in said activity of priming and tv-ing?

Get the hand prime. Its easy and pretty safe , i havent had any problems. And i reloaded hundreds of rounds for my 38 super, 45 auto, 223, 3006.

The best way to get started reloading is to find someone that has the set-up you are considering, and have them show you how it works.

They may be loading a different caliber, but if you get to try the machine and see the process, it will certainly help you to decide if you want to invest in that machine.

Even better is to try a few different reloaders, and choose the one that best suits you.

I think Im fairly sold on the Lee Deluxe Turret Press. I can do complete rounds instead of having to stage them which is good for those of us who are ADD prone.

Anybody have any experiences with the turret press? Good? Bad? Ugly?

One other question for you guys. With the upcoming(more or less) ammo ban should I start reloading for 40 s&w my more expensive round or should I reload 9x18 makarov which is cheaper now but will be much more expensive after the ban. Any suggestions? Also is one easier to load than the other? Different primer size??

I have a Lyman turret press which is like a single stage press but my rifle dies and crimp die are all loaded on the turret. I love my setup although it is slower than progressive. I am a newbie with about 1k rounds under my belt of .308 and .223. I do a resize/decrimp one night, second night trim/debur/prim, third night is when everything is quiet and this is where I load powder and seat the bullets. I get about 400 .223 done per three days and 50-60 .308 match rounds. I went the single stage route because I wanted to learn each stage of the loading process. I will definitely get a progressive press when I move to pistol. I did have Ohh sh** moment and that's when I was loading powder and my 7 year old came to ask me something. After he left, I went back to pouring the powder and all the sudden powder is everywhere. I double charged a .223 cartridge and since they fill almost to the neck(unlike most pistol powder), the powder just spilled out. I'd recommend staying with a single stage press to begin with and putting a "reloading in progress, stay the H*ll Out till further notice" sign on the door to the room where you're going to do this.

I think you may also need a case trimmer.

Yeah, why do you think it's called "Primetime TV?"

And if you watch ABC News, you do it when the Primetime segment comes on.

Sorry, I HAD to say it.
