I have an old roll top desk that needs some TLC due to water damage. Going to modify it for my reloading needs.

      Instructable.com

There are a few good benches that can be made for fairly cheap on instructables.com. I made my workbenck turned casting/reloading bench based from this one http://www.instructables.com/id/Work...-on-the-Cheap/ Of course I HAD to go out and buy an 18 volt Ryobi cordless tool kit which came with a circular saw with blades, drill, reciprocating saw with blades, a flashlight, charger and 2 batteries packed in a convenient carrying bag. Had to tell the wife I need a bench and I dont have the "right stuff" to build it. She's getting pretty good at believing me when i say "I have to have it or I can't (insert use here)." lol

There is a metal framed & wooden top bench for sale at Sam's Club for ~$150. You can get metal drawers that will slide under the bench for ~$150.

When you get to your new place, look for a free desk on Craigslist. Lot's of room to work up top, and drawers to keep tools, dies, components, etc... close at hand. If you have the space and get a large enough desk, you can make it loading bench on one side and gunsmith bench (with a vise, etc...) on the other.

Cheep is great, but free is better if it does what you need. You may still want to add casters to move it around, but there you're talking about $10-$12 from Harbor Freight.

Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.
