My benches were framed up with 2x4s 16"s on center,4x4 legs and a solid core 4-0, 6-0, 1 5/8" doors as the top. The most important thing for a reloading bench is NO MOVEMENT make sure that it is lagged, screwed to the wall studs.

I welded up a good one that I can move from room to room. Since I have build 8 and my cousin made one. If you weld I will send you pictures and measurements.

Made mine from 4x4 legs, 2x6 sides and 3/4 outdoor ply top. All screwed together nine ways to Sunday. You could park a bus full of fat ladies on it and it wouldn't budge.

Mine is 2"x8" x 8' top with a 2x4 frame and 4x4 legs that are all reinforced with metal framing brackets. Can still move the bench (free floating) if I wanted to... but the sucker is steadfast when using the press... and the scale sits on a shelf just a 1/2" above the bench top that is securely mounted to the studs in the wall so it isn't affected by the press.

I used to have my Dillon 550b mounted to a flat piece of wood that I clamped to my kitchen counter. The counter was not going to move!

I got lucky and scored a Heavy duty lab table/desk
                  1-1/2 x 1-1/2 Heavy Duty Steel Frame
two steel side drawers and a 1-1/4 thick laminated formica top 30" x 48"
It does not move at all

Metal table my father in law built with a steel door for the top.

has power built in for misc. power tools i might need.

Sturdy enough for 223 and 40.

Serious shooters spend lots of time in the reloading room. If you want to produce great ammo, start with a good, solid bench with a very rigid working surface and plenty of storage space. Here we present three sets of FREE workbench plans.

Here is a link to 3 different sets of plans. I have built the bottom bench with the storage cabinet above the bench. It has served me for over 40 years. I would build another one if something happened to this one.

There are lots of plans on the net. This is the one I made because it and I am cheap:

                            but you can also try:

For pre-built you can use this:

                            or this:

Shipping is pretty high, so it's much better if you pick it up in person.

Good luck. Show us the finished pictures.

I use an old metal desk I got from the state. They were getting ready to throw them away and I found out. I asked and took away a desk and a table. Very heavy though.
