        Holy Cow, 12 grains is a lot of powder. I would be more worried about my hand and face than hitting something down range.

                    WWII is the right era for the necked brass shot (survival) cartridge, but I think the paper nosed shot cartridge for the thompson was much earlier. Nickle case with a red paper nose formed with same shape as the fmj.
