Scale - Beam or digital?

Well it is easier to weight unknowns with digital, with the beam you have to know what weight it is and if it doesn't balance you have to move plus/minus. It just takes a little more time, that is why using an electronic scale much easier. And not every one separates cases and projectiles by weight.sigpicI'm your Huckelberry....Comment

Expect that you will weigh more often with a digital, because it is so much easier and faster. I like having both for a cross check, but the balance beam is an inexpensive Lee that I had anyway. It is accurate, and so is the digital. I guess I believe that because they give the same answer and do well with the check weights. I have a PACT BBK II, which is a cheaper, unbranded version of the RCBS 750 with power adapter. MidwayUSA would be my suggested source. I have tried cheaper digitals, and they work well too. Shutting off so quickly though was a problem which I haven't noticed with the PACT II. Maybe I weigh faster, I don't know. It's fine, and I like it.Comment

I have both a 10-10 and a 505 (the 505 was $10 at a recent gun show, couldn't pass it up). Both are excellent scales and dead-on. I'd suggest going for the 505 unless someone has a specific need to measure bullets over 500 gr.
For measuring powder charges, the Lee Safety Scale is more than good enough."San Francisco Liberal With A Gun"

I use both. Digital is much faster. If I could only have one it would be the digital.Comment

Digital. Hands down. Dont let the haters make your mind up or scare you that a digi is not accurate. You will buy one once you start reloading. In fact, i would love for someone to reference an article saying that a reputable digi scale has led to anyone over charging. Go digital and dont look back.Comment

In case anyone was wondering, the cheapy digitals really are accurate to ~0.15 grains. I got to compare mine to an expensive one in a chem lab. If you trickle right until it rounds up, it's actually even more accurate. If you wanna go the expensive digital route, 0.001 gram accuracy should suffice (~$500).Comment
