JMHO here, do not buy a Lee scale, I have one I got with a kit and I was not super impressed, it works but the 20 year old Redding beam scale I got off of Ebay for 20 rasbucknicks out the door works a lot better. You don't have trouble reading exactly what you are weighing.

I also got a twenty buck electronic scale as a back up but most of the cheap digital scales are +- a tenth of a grain which you need to really watch with hotter pistol loads. I use a powder measure but I weigh every 5 to 8 loads on the scale just for safety's sake. KABLOOIE loads are hard on the ears and a good weapon.

You can get a real nice useable beam scale for under 40-50 bucks if you look around.

Used beam and digital. I have a Dillon digital for 6 years now and have never touched my beam scales. Its like when I got my first digital calipers. I never went back to the old style calipers.

I upgraded from the Lyman XP 1000 dig scale that came with the press kit to the Lyman 1200 DPS III scale and love it. Yeah, I see sometimes a fluctuation in the tenths... but that because of discrepancy mentioned about digital scales.

From prior posts, recommendations and tips from the manual, I have my scale placed on level shelf that's floating just above my workbench (isolated) and is mounted to the studs of the walls. I power it up at least 1/2 hour before I intend to use it and keep the plastic cover closed when not using it and calibrate it after every warm-up period.

I love the feature of the auto dispense... and yes, I weight each charge. Being that I do small batches, it's not that big of deal for me. And I also cross check with another scale every now and then. But once all is going and the charge it set... it's smooth sailing... and I love it.
