    Looking for .45 Bullets

    Hello all,

I'm looking for moderately priced .45 bullets which will be used for just shooting at the range and nothing more. If anybody can point me to some good websites or recommend something in local area (Sac Area) would be great.

Also would love to find some .45 gap brass also as I have a Glock and want to reload some ammo for it.

    Thanks.

Starline makes the .45 GAP brass. That's about the only source I know of, and they're backordered. However, you might want to look at a conversion kit for .40 S&W or 9mm for cheap practice ammo. Brass for those calibers are plentiful.

Starline Brass sells America's finest handgun, rifle and pistol brass cases for reloading ammunition. Factory direct value plus highest quality - shipped to your door.

i assume you are going to use the bullets in a glock so you probably want 230 gn FMJ as it is the cheapest of the true copper jacketed

i'm not sure you would be comfortable with the copper plated bullets but if you are down with those try here

High-quality, USA-made ammo for sale online, including bulk orders! Get new and remanufactured rounds at great prices. Shop 9mm, 223, 380, .45, 10mm, and more.

sorry i know of none local that can come near those prices even with shipping on top

I use Berry's Bullets. They sell (1000) 230gr Copper Plated bullets for $134 shipped. Any other 230gr that isn't lead is more expensive.

I've purchased both brass and bullets from these folks several times now, never had an issue:

Shipping is included in the posted prices so they might swap out the boxes on you to keep the cost down.

I stand corrected, thanks! I will be looking for more 230gr bullets in the near future, so it will be nice to make my reloads even cheaper.

Here ya go. The usual caveats dealing on teh intraweb. Check out the "Straight Shooters & Deadbeats" thread. If I was looking for a wildly popular brass like .45GAP () for a decent price I would look here...

If you want to save a lot of money go with moly coated lead bullets.

YES, you can run these through your glock barrel with no problems. The moly coating keeps lead from getting caught in the lands of the barrel.

This is my barrel after 2 or 3 months of IDPA events @ 4 weekends each month, approximately 100-125 rounds per match + practice time at the range (100-200 per week)

As you can see, it's dirty but not fouled.

Don't buy the hype that you can only use FMJ or plated bullets in your glock. If you go bare lead, make sure you clean your barrel after every time you shoot it.

Moly bullets 230g 45acp cost me around $70/k shipped.
