What's the big deal anyway? People are allowed to charge the highest price the market will bare.

      Lowers:
      Obama craze $300
      today $59

      AR's:
      Obama craze: $2500
      today $750

However the government does fix prices. Milk, grain, import/export taxes. Gas was a bad example since it has stayed flat since the 1900's when corrected for inflation. Panic of low supply created huge demand(in oil futures), price spiked. World crashed, demand collapsed, price returned. If demand had stayed high maybe we would still be paying $5 a gallon.

Here's how manufacturing works. First they manufacture something as cheaply as they can. Then, they try to sell it for as much as they can. It's that simple. There is no "fairness" involved. If you manufacture something that nobody wants, people are not going to pay you a "fair" price for it so you can get your money back. Your product will end up in some surplus/bargain bin store selling for one tenth of what it cost you to make it. On the other hand, if you manufacture something that everybody wants then you will charge as much as they are willing to pay. If your warehouse and store shelves are empty of product because it is selling out so fast, that means you are not charging enough. If you're starting to see sales lagging and product clogging up your warehouse, then you are charging too much. If the price you can charge to sell it stays higher than the price it costs you to make it then you can stay in business.
Actually this is the best answer I have seen yet. At least it makes sense why the price went up ten bazilion percent.

And if any of you would actually read what I type I stated the bullets will be delivered HERE before I buy them. So NO import license. NO weapons of mass destruction license etc. And LIKE I SAID ABOVE I will have the price next week. Eight people @ 25k projectiles each. If no one chimes in here I will post them for sale in the ammo section once I have the price.

ITAR is required for SALES of ammunition components, even if you don't import or export them.

Except IM NOT SELLING THEM. Eight people here are BUYING them TOGETHER on a joint BUY.

A prime example of why people get frustrated with group buys.

I thought it was $2250 now?
