Kinetic for me too !! you might reuse the bullet if you cushion the bottom with something.

I prefer the collet type myself -- I don't think there is any really "better" puller.
I also have a "chinese finger puzzle" style but it tends to mar the bullet although the bullets are generally still useable.
With miltary ammo it is often necesary to push the bullet in slightly to break the seal before pulling.

Kinetic if you're worried about re-using the bullets. But you'll lose a little bit of powder with them, so if you want to re-weigh a charge it'll be a little off.

I have and use both. For just a few bullets (pulling bullets when setting up dies, the occasional sheared copper on a plated bullet, etc.), I will use the kinetic puller. I was given hundreds of old reloads. I did not trust them so decided to pull them apart for the bullets, brass and primers. It did not take me long to want to try the cam lock puller, so I picked one up. It is much faster once it is setup but it takes a bit of time to get it setup so that it will pull a bullet every time. It was a great time saver in this case. If you are only pulling a few bullets at a time, stick with the kinetic puller.

I use an oooooooold Dillon kinetic puller.

I've replaced the "O" ring a few times, but it takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'.

And use one of those yellow, squishy, foam ear plugs at the bottom of the puller so the boolit doesn't get dinged.

I use both depending on the situation. Unfortunately, I have not seen 50BMG kinetic pullers for about 5 or 6 years. If I happen on one, I might get it for kicks. But, I have a CH4D .510 collet puller, a RCBS collet puller and a couple of kinetic pullers. I have yet to hear of a good reason not to buy the cheap, frankford arsonal kinetic puller. It comes with several collets and is priced much less than anything else.

I have an RCBS collet puller and I really like it. You don't mar the bullet unless you totally Hulk out on it. I work at it to make sure I use the minimum force necessary to pull the bullet out. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries, especially with crimped bullets, but the results are good.

I have both, collet and kinetic. Both RCBS brand. I use the collet for my rifle bullets and the kinetic for my pistol. The kinetic works very well when you use either lead or plated bullets since there's no damage to the bullet itself after use.

Tried to disassmble some WWB .357 though & it wasn't happening. Also disassembled a bunch of handloads of dubious (unknown) history and the lead cores had a tendancy to pop out of the SJHP jackets.

I use the kinetic type for sidearm type ammo and the cam type for all my rifle.

Both work great and do the job they were made to do.

Please clue me --- does "cam" equal "collet" -- I am not familiar with a cam puller. I do have a "jam" ? or chinese finger puzzle style which you thread into a press like a die. Looks a bit like a camera shutter. When inserted the bullet goes though the opening and when you downstroke the bullet is jammed in the jaws. Works ok but often marks the bullet.
