    Giraud Power Trimmer

Addendum: Link to review - http://www.inlandshooters.net/index.php?contentid=42

    Pictures: http://www.inlandshooters.net/galler...iraud_trimmer/

Got it in yesterday. Pretty easy to setup as far as adjusting trim length.

I don't have a large batch of brass to trim yet, so I won't write a review at this time.

I'll probably write up something at the end of May since I should have gone through at least 500 rounds from now until then.

Yeah, from all the reviews I've read about it, it is the best there is. I am saving my pennies for one.

We must have ordered around the same time as I got mine yesterday as well. I think we're setup the same as well. I got the .308 Win and .223 Rem setup. I haven't had the chance to play with it yet, but am anxious to.

          ocabj,
If you need some brass to practice on, I have 4 buckets of LC 5.56 you could trim for me!

Yes, this thing is pricey. But everytime I'm in the garage trimming, deburring, dechamfering several hundred pieces of rifle brass, I always think to myself, "I wish I had a Giraud trimmer right now." After I get it all done, the the desire for one goes away. Until the next time I'm sitting in the garage doing the same thing again.

I had mine for over a year now and it is a heaven sent for any reloader especially in .223 and 6.8 in which the brass expands the greatest after re-sizing. Used the trimmer for brass and bullets: Meplat, 6.5, 6.8, 338 LM, 308, 223.

Plan to purchase one exclusively for the 223.

I'm thinking about getting one for .223 also.. I have the 30cal cutter head 223 cutter head and 308 and 30-06 and 223 collets... even though it is real easy to change heads... I want to get another one just exclusively for 223 and leave one for all my 30 cal stuff.

It'll take you till the end of May to go through 500 rounds? Man, I go through 500 rounds of reloaded ammo every week. Thanks God for my Giraud!

                      NRA,
Although it is easy to change the head and the blade, it would be great to have a trimmer setup for the caliber you will mainly use. It gets really old changing from 6.8 to 308 and 223. The Grendel brass for some weird reason does not stretch.

Yeah. Even though the AR is my SR gun, I'll run through about 500 rounds a month in .223 depending on matches and range practice time.

I can't imagine shooting 500 rounds of .223 or any other centerfire rifle a week. Pistol, maybe. But not rifle. I don't have *that* much money.

Looks like I'll sell my dillon power trimmer and buy one of these. That way I can sneak it into my office. How fast can you switch calibers?

OK. MY only question is: how loud is the motor on the Giraud? Blender loud? Vacuum loud? Drill press loud?

Great question. I'd like to know as well.
