Lee Classic Turret Press

I bought mine on eBay as a Deluxe Kit. It came with everything to get started except a die set for $113.00. I bought a .223/5.56 NATO set for for $27.00 (new) a 9mm Luger 4 die set for $31.00 (New) and a .40 4 die set for $37.00 (New). Shipping for everything was $13.95 and no tax. I received it yesterday and loaded 300 rounds of 9mm this morning. Setup took 45 minutes (most of that deciding where to mount it) and about 15 minutes to adjust. This is my first turret press and I haven't reloaded in 30 years. I soon remembered how relaxing it was.

I'm sure I will run into issues, but so far so good. I did just buy (eBay again) the powder extension, a digital scale, and a Lee Auto Prime. I think I made a good choice for the time being.

You get what you pay for....
The tolerances are a bit loose and it's not the fastest press around, but changing calibers is suuuper easy. I was going to get rid of mine and get a Dillon, but i think i'm going to keep it just b/c i can quickly be ready to load some of my funky calibers.
There's another thread around here that posed your exact same question. I remember writing a much more detailed review along with a few others.

Remember, he's talking about the *Classic* Turret press, not the "regular" Turret press that came before it. The *Classic* Turret is a wonderful press, bull-strong, with tight tolerances. The thing is simply a pleasure to use. I don't foresee ever getting rid of mine.

The one thing you've got to fiddle with a little to get it spot-on is the Safety Prime system. It works, but you've got to get the angle just right. It also feels kinda cheap, but if you can get past that, it does the job.

My rate of ammo production on it is about 100/hour, if I go at a reasonable clip. This is with .45 Long Colt. If I hurry, I can get 150/hour, but I prefer not to hurry. If you want lots of production, that's why progressive presses (e. g. Lee Pro 1000, Hornady LnL AP) exist.

If I had to choose just *one* press, and one press only, it'd be the Classic Turret.
