    Lee Classic Turret Press

Anyone have one? I am new to reloading and am debating purchasing this kit through cabelas. anyone have any experience with this? I do not shoot competitively. I am looking mostly to produce pretty decent amounts of .223 and .45 for plinking and whatnot.

Not me. I'd go here: http://www.factorysales.com/html/xca...g/classic.html scroll down a bit and find the Classic Turret Press for $84.48.

I have that press, the non-cast version. It was my first press and is good for a beginner. You can get your dies set for a given caliber and easily rotate from sizing to seating and crimping without switching out dies. This lets you focus on learning each step while getting consistent results.

Got into reloading about 8 months ago. The Lee Turret works well for me. The Deluxe version has most everything you need. I would suggest the following additional parts. 1) Auto Disk Riser. 2) Double powder disk kit for the 223. 3) Get the Deluxe die sets. 4) Some sort of decent electronic powder scale.

The guy that taught me how to reload has one and I bought one myself. Great press for the money, saves time and allows progressive work if you want to. Lee is great value stuff.

I bet once you start with the tools in hand you will wonder what took you so long have fun it should be pretty easy. And don't forget the possum hollow trimmer for your drill/drillpress

I have had a Lee Classic Turret and I have been using it for almost 4 years now, on and off. I have loaded 40S&W, 45ACP, and 308 Win on it with good results. The Lee is a good way to load a faster then a single stage (about 100 rds/hr of pistol ammo) and it's very easy to maintain quality.

                          ^^^ Ditto.

I load .45 & .357. I have the dies mounted in their own turrets so changing is a snap.

                          Get the carbide deluxe sets.

I recently ordered both the double disc kit and the adjustable charge bar. The standard discs work great but I needed more flexibility for adjusting loads without weighing every single charge.

Two things that don't come with the kit that are essential IMO are a bullet puller and a digital caliper.

I was always called an F'ing Nuke, nice to see another bubblehead on here.

The three hole Lee turret was the first press I ever owned. I bought it in 1981 and I still have it but it's not set up on my bench right now. I've loaded countless rounds of 45 ACP, 308, 44 mag, 300 WSM, 25.06, 338, 38 special, etc. on it and never broke a single thing on it.
