Thanks for that...I was trying to figure out how to use the :site function without having to read the giant FAQ. Google search is definitely better than the calguns internal search.

OP: I've shot some Tula .223, which comes from the same factory as Wolf, in my mini without any problems. Box o' Truth also did a pretty good article on it awhile ago. As long as you clean your chamber before switching back to brass, you should be fine.

Wolf is the cheapest ammo you can buy practically. My mini 30 seems to think its okay. not as good a fiochi but decent

With that said, I don't mind shooting wolf and clean up isn't too bad.

Wolf Ammo can be nit-picky (or your gun, depends on your perspective).
IMO, Wolf 7.62x39 has some of the finest value per buck you can get. I've heard that it's underpowered, but two specific types of Wolf 7.62x39 that I've read glowing reviews on are:
Wolf 7.62x39 154 Gr SP - Can kill a deer/medium sized game in 1 shot, average cost is 28-30 cents a round
Wolf 7.62x39 Military Classic 124 Gr HP - The bullet fragments and or has the jacket shear off violently, which is good against soft targets, average cost 30 cents a round

In general about Wolf Ammo: good choice for AK type rifles, SKS, has a reputation for being finicky with most other guns, and Wolf ammo is dirty and leaves much residue.
If you plan on long term storage of Wolf ammo, my recommendation is to keep it sealed in plastic and box it, so that no rust or corrosion appears on it from any moisture (the steel cases rust easily).

Never tried Wolf ammo, but almost everything I have been told about Wolf has been bad.

You read it, heard it, seen it or experianced it? Remember that hearing and reading about it is always false until proven correct! especially this topic.

I've heard stories that it sucks...but I basically purchased a pallet of em in 5.56 HP 55gr...shot them all with no issues. I had a few short strokes in one of my AR but it was because the buffer spring. I swaped it with a carbine buffer and all went well.

Fired 1000's of rounds out of my AK, AR, SKS with no problems. Although the only thing I would mention is the fact that steel case ammo is hard on the AR's extractor-wears it out quicker but still no problems. I give two thumbs up for Wolf

Never had an issue with .223 and .45 in any of my guns

I've shot .45 and 5.45 without issue over the last couple years. Not one misfire or misfeed.

I wont even keep a gun if it cannot shoot wolf ammo. To me a gun that will not shoot base low level ammo is not a reliable gun. ive shot wolf out of ALL my guns and I've never had a problem with it. I think the only one that never got Wolf was my 30-06 but that's due to me never seeing it. i don't even think they make it. Whoever told you it was bad is full of ****. Ive had BNIB commercial US made ammo that did not fire. And I'm not talking one out for 100 I'm talking 18 out of a box of 20.. Took it back and got more ammo. cause i b*****d at the manager.

Agreed. I believe that most decent firearms should have no excuse for not being able to stomach Wolf ammo. Only the most finicky/antique of firearms have some excuse for not being able to shoot it.

While I agree with you that Wolf ammo isn't crappy, I think that there is some ground for the rumors of Wolf being bad quality. I think some AR-15 extractors cannot handle the steel on steel action of ejecting steel casings, and I think that Wolf ammo sometimes jams in firearms that are not of Russian origin. The best Wolf ammo IMO is for AK's and pistols

Just don't shoot brass cased ammo after steel cased without cleaning. The steel cased will gum up your chamber and the brass will stick to it causing a FTE. That is the main problem with wolf. It shoots great in most and especially comie guns, It's just brass that doesn't like it.

I've had bad experience with wolf 62gr.. Stuck case, dirty reside everywhere, etc. Just a complete waste of money IMO..
