    Bought Some Primers Today...

and got raped as it was $50 for a brick of small rifle (CCI #400). supply and demand i guess. i thought $40 was outrageous. anyway, the person at the register tells me that PMCs factory had some explosion and that primer sales would stay this way for a while.

anyway, we need a group buy up this forum when primers are available.

primers are expensive IF you can find them. Best bet is to buy in bulk online.

Anyone know about this explosion at PMC or is that just gun shop FUD?

Locally they're $30/1000, did the shop at least take you to breakfast the morning after?

I think the explosion he's talking about is Prvi Partizan explosion last Nov. NOT a PMC ammo plant, if it was.. it would be all over ARFCOM.

next time, buy bulk and buy online.

                    Not much else though.

i'm not sure where you were buying primers, but i picked up 10k of small pistol primers for $110/5k. i always buy my primers and powder at the same place. as you walk into the show, go to the right. it is the one with a long line.

8lb jug of varget, BLC-2 was $145 each. it went up $5 from the last show.

If you're in the Bay Area, Imbert & Smithers in San Carlos has a decent stock of primers right now. I just got a brick of CCI #450 for about $36 including tax.

thanks everyone for making me feel like elizabeth shue...

this was @ sportmen's supply in campbell. i knew it was overpriced, but i've been having a hard time finding pistol primers and i've got a sh*t load of shiny brass ready for reloading. most websites are backordered on small pistol primers.

i would have waited for a good opportunity to stock up on decently priced primers, but it's spring break and i've got some time this week to load my rifle ammo. i wanted to get my pistol reloading out of the way as well.

Sounds like a dealer to avoid in the future -- Price beyond reason and ill informed as well .
