I am thinking we might not have missed out at all. Yeah, I'll never see 1K worth of Port 308 delivered for $165 (ammoman a few years ago). But I went to the show at cal expo this weekend and the prices are getting better. When the hoarders get stuffed and the manufaturers keep cooking there may well be some deals at the table for those who leave room in thier storage.
Buy your pistol ammo where it is still free.Imagine the banning of Assault Articles, High Capacity Editorials, and the existance of Off List PeriodicalsComment

My rule of thumb is at least 1,000 rounds per caliber.Comment

Like the perfect hummer, warm summer days and the sound of children playing, ammo is something you just can't get enough of....Comment

Don't stop buying ammo until you need a forklift to move the pallet around in the garage.I am sure this has been asked before and I am sure the answers could be all over the place, but I could not find a post using the search tool.
How much ammo should I have as a minimum for my 9mm.
How many shot gun shells and should they be primarily buck and slugs?
Right now I have about 2000 rd 9mm and 500 shotgun."People crushed by law, have no hopes but from power. If laws are their enemies, they will be enemies to laws; and those who have much to hope and nothing to lose, will always be dangerous" - Edmund Burke (1777)Comment

My dad was always getting ready for the SHTF scenarios. He would always say that if we got into a lawless situation, a lot of the semi auto guns he has now, he would probably convert to full auto. I think they shot something like 20 bullets in 2 seconds. He said that would really scare away the bad guys, but it would use up a lot more than most people think about carrying.
It seems like if you're even thinking about lots of ammo, reloading makes sense for you. If that's the case, you can have tons of reload supplies stored too... maybe 10,000 bullets?Comment
