How much ammo do I need?

I am sure this has been asked before and I am sure the answers could be all over the place, but I could not find a post using the search tool.

How much ammo should I have as a minimum for my 9mm.
How many shot gun shells and should they be primarily buck and slugs?

Right now I have about 2000 rd 9mm and 500 shotgun.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

Its never enough ammo but I would have at least 1000 rounds per firearm. However maybe more for your pistol because next Feb. 2011 you will be limited on how much you can buy each month.

There's nothing to limit you buying ammunition!

it all depends. i have about 2k of 9mm for my 92FS and the ability to reload another 2k.

i have about 4k of .223 reloaded and another 3k to reload. my goal is to have about 5k of 223 stashed away and use the rest on desert trips.

it all depends on what you are saving for. ya know.
I am offically a gun nut!!!!!

As much as your budget will allow.

I normally make sure I have enough to fill every mag in my SHTF firearms. I guess that ranges from 250-500 rounds per firearm. Oh and you can never have enough 22lr. A simple light bolt action 22lr is probably one of the best survival rifles to carry. Light in weight, simple design that won't require replacement parts or even cleaning, enough power to hunt deer and smaller, and you can carry thousands of rounds in very little space.
