    Large Rifle primers

I am just starting the process of reloading and I have been looking all over the internet for Large Rifle primers. I was wondering if $295(shipping and hazmat included) is a somewhat decent price for 5,000 CCI BR Large Rifle Primers (Comes out to $59 per 1,000).

HELLLLLL NO! You should be paying around $30-40 per 1000. BR primers are higher but not $60 high

I figured that that was on the expensive side. Where can you find primers for $30-40 per 1000? I've looked all over the internet and can't find any.

Every other place I have looked might have them for cheaper but they are all out of stock. They might be $59 but at least they're in stock.

I don't really want to sacrifice any quality, I am willing to spend a little bit more to get a better primer. I am planning on producing match quality ammo(quality not quantity)thanks for the info though.

Well, since you're going to be fussy , Midway has them in stock for $48.99/k.

With shipping and hazmat you should get away for $282 and change.

There are a LOT of people that are very happy with the Wolf primers performance. It is not in the same league as their ammo

Try Wolf primers. You will be surprised with the results. It is cheaper, too.

I have used both wolf primers and am currently using BR2's. Both have worked very well. I got mine for about 55 per 1000 at luckygunner.com. They sell them at angeles reloading store for 65 per 1000. considering the times you may want to find the cheapest in stock and bite the extra money.

Are you using BR2's because that's just what you have or do you like them better? Do you think they are worth the extra money compared to Wolf?

I used to use Federal match primers. After testing it against the Wolf primers, I got rid of all the Federal match primers.

Wolf makes really good primers. Don't be a snob, save some money.

Oh thanks for the snob comment! Like I said I am new to reloading and my concern about the Wolf primers was only because I didn't know about their reputation. I figured if I was going to spend money on primers I might as well spend a little more and get quality primers. That was my only reasoning. Now that so many people have good opinions about the Wolf primers I will buy them. I will assume you were joking about the whole snob thing but if you weren't I am sure you were at the whole "newb" point so just bear with me if you could.

                              I can attest to this.

I've used wolf primers for a lot of my pistol loads and they've given me good accuracy. I haven't done a "Pepsi challenge" or anything to compare the results to CCI or Winchester but so far, they do just fine.
