    Look at the straight lines on the brass casing. Idiot reloader who doesn't know how to properly clean the brass and screwed up his own dies but putting dirty brass into a resizing die. I bet all the brass was like that. That little bit if grit in that resizing die will damage EVERY single piece of brass now.
    I am thinking he used Lee dies, I have two sets (one in 9MM and one in .357) they both leve those lines (I bought them New and I clean my brass before I start loading)

    also if you set the die to deep it will do a very good roll crimp. (great for .356 not so much for 9mm or .45ACP.

    OP if you need help with a taper crimp (you take them apart and put them back together) let me know I am in Folsom, also if you can't get the person you got them from to help you and you just want to pass them on to some one that can use some of the parts let me know.
