When you are spending your entire off time on the computer visiting 1 reloading site after another checking for primmers, powder and such and working OT to pay for your habit, then you are in my world....My budget doesnt have room for reloading expenses so I have to work over to afford things...Then the wife gets upset because I am always on the computer....yada yada yada....However, she pretty much lets me do what I want as long as the lights stay on.....I have never taken her to the reloading store though....Humm, "Honey, want to go out on a date"?

Oh, one time I apparently had an unspent primmer on the floor of my garage and me and a friend were dragging 8' sheets of plywood accross my garage during a remodel and it detonated. Scared the poop out of both of us since the door was closed and it was very loud....

I had one pop when I was trying to seat it. I was loading M1 Carbine at my dad's place. His reloading equipment consists of the resizing die that you have to whack the shell into with a mallet - and then use said mallet to seat the primer as well. Apparently there was a piece of the corncob media in the primer pocket that I didn't see (it was my first time reloading, and I didn't really know what I was doing.)

My dad and his wife were doing their own thing elsewhere in the barn...they know I'm reloading ammo, and hear the whacks of the mallet, and all of a sudden, BANG! Scared the crap out of all 3 of us. I was very careful after that.

That would have been enough to make me stop using lee tools for life.

I am guilty of this. I got 3000 small rifle primers and not a single round that uses it so i went and bought a 22 hornet cause i know small rifle primers are hard to come by.

Just about every day she asks me if she should be expecting another shipment from UPS/Fed Ex.
Does your wife have a sister that is single? I'd like to trade my fiance in for a woman like the one you got.

Yes...and I finished priming all my brass last night. This thing works really good. So much better than the press-mounted priming tool. Well worth the money.

I found the press-mounted priming tool was only seating about 50% of the primers correctly. Many weren't fully seated. I used the RCBS hand tool to press them in to a uniform depth.

                Thanks again for your help.

LOL - I don't work at APTS on the weekends because I enjoy working 7 days a week - thats my bullet and powder money - or at least it used to be - now its gas, ciggy, coffee etc etc money
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

If you're of sound mind and spirit, it never stops.

For the past few years I've gotten to chasing cartridge types from the period of development of the metallic cartridge.
It's not uncommon to see me in the machine shop building various different iterations of prototype cartridge cases and moulds for a 150+ year old sporting double rifle just to see if I can get the thing to shoot both barrels to the same point of impact - over the point if aim on the original regulated sights.
From there (once I've finally found the right combination) I end up making special reloading dies, wad punches, lube and sizing dies for the bullets, hand tools for the original carrying case...

Baby steps -- take baby steps.
There's nothing out of the ordinary in your actions.
Keep it up and you'll find your niche!

                    Cheers

I've owned enough equipment (except the specific dies) to reload just about anything for over 20 years. I still buy stuff.
