do you ever read people's posts before replying?

    Does Walmart commonly sell surplus7.62?

So besides you most people should be capable of distinguishing between Walmart Raiders and people who are selling their stash.

What if my friend request was turned down by a member should that member still get BFF pricing?
What you do with other members offline is none of my concern.

What's the minimum time you gotta wait after ammo purchase before it's called gouging? Is this only for walmart purchases?

realize some people have to try 20 times to find some ammo... so if they do, and then decide to sell it later... i'd say they should get gas cash for those attempts..if you don't like it, don't buy it, but stop crying a freakin river. I don't even sell ammo but if you need it, you'll buy it, or you'll find it elsewhere. Its a free market economy..or you can go to walmart everyday and hope to find some.

$75 bucks and they get an even nicer set-up than what i got. I saw somebody advertise a lee progressive for only $175 today as well. All the prices I listed for the reloading i purchased within the last month or so from other calgun members. I would also advocate looking at the local craigslist for good deals on relaoding equipment.

As far as 22 hornet rounds I would be impress if you can buy factory loads for under 65 cents each round for that cartridge. That is why I reload and it has saved me a ton of money. I do it as a hobby and reload with friends. I don't count my time reloading when I am sitting there watching football with friends on Sundays or when I am watching the news each night.

I will agree with you that reloading is not for everybody. people with deep pockets, those that habe no time, or have families it would be difficult to reload and to justify the cost if you don;t shoot a whole lot is not economical to invest in such equipment. But for those that want to learn it is another aspect of our shooting sport.

The people reselling have inside connections.
They don't drive down there until their buddy calls and says to come get it.

Just because it took YOU 20 attempts to find ammo, don't be fooled into thinking it took the resellers the same effort.
It's the reseller's buddies who are not even bothering to stock the walmart shelves that make it so hard for YOU to find ammo when you try.

                    yep.

It always cracks me up when the sellers say "I have 36 boxes of WWB 100 bulk pack for sale for 50 a box and 30 boxes of federal 525 round box for 25 a box", and others who haven't seen 45s and 22 packs at Walmart in a year still defend them out of principal.

by no means am i defending them... if no one bought from them, they'd be stuck w/ the ammo and have to actually shoot it and get a job. But if people are dumb enough to buy it, then they will keep doing it.

I have over $1700 in my Dillon 650 and this allows me to load 9, 357sig, 40, 45acp/gap, 10mm and 223. Yes, $1700 and that doesn't even cover the components or media.

How much do you need to shoot to make it worth while? About 2000 rounds a month. I'll have to see about a finding that break-even analysis spreadsheet, it's eye opening.
I am into precision shooting, and have spent close to what you have spent, for single stage, and still have to get the Dillon for production ammo. Yes, reloading can be expensive, but depends on what you are after and level of equipment bought.

I don't really understand having to shoot 2000 rounds a month to make it worthwhile. At some point, you will break even, and after that, any round is a savings. I did construct an Excel spreadsheet that calculates cost per round, taking into consideration everything from Hazmat charges, shipping, grains of powder per load, number of times a case is reused, etc. The spreadsheet also calculates how many months it will take to recoup all the costs of reloading vs the cost of production ammo (as entered into the spreadsheet). For me, it was obvious...reload, even disregarding the superiority of ammo I can make vs inexpensive production ammo.

I can send you the spreadsheet if you like. Has multiple tabs for different calibers and an overall savings with all calibers combined and rounds shot of each per month.

You have to enter your own data, and it is Excel. How do I host and post it here. Be glad to do it, just not sure it would work or how to do it.
