    Wolf Primers:good or iffy?

I just ordered a butt load of Wolf small pistol, large pistol, and large rifle primers from Wideners. I like winchester and cci primers, but they are of course scarce. The remingtons worked well except for a few that had multiple primer strikes from my xd 40 pistol but still didn't ignite. I have heard mixed reviews about the wolf and wanted some input as to wether the current ones all go bang and work well, or if they still have any problems. I shoot steel madness in Norco, Ca, but am in the middle of the pack as far as skill level and hardware. My gun is getting a few mods but should still not be pickey about ammo. As long as my point of impact doesn't wander all over the place, and they all go bang the first time, I should be ok. I do use whatever brass I find at the range and I do not sort by head stamp.

    Thanks

I've been told a lot of match shooters swear by wolf primers. I bought 2000 lrp and have given away 200 to friends. My buddy who has been reloading for 40 years said they preformed well.

Wolf ammo has a bad wrap so I think to transferred to the primers, as well. Primers are fine. My only complaint is they dont seat as smoothly as Winchesters do.

You did well. I only have experience w/ their LPP so far, and it has been excellent. Bought some LRP as well, but haven't used any yet.

              Thanks guys
I'm glad to hear that most people like them. I should have asked before I ordered 28 thousand of them for my dad, grandfather, and I, but I had already heard mixed reviews and there aren't many other choices out there.

The only issues I've read about were caused by primers not being seated full and proper. I guess handle that situation and you should be good.

                    Don't worry, they're ok.
After more than 18K (LR,SR,LP & SP)no issues, well just one, I gues that was the exemption to the rule.

as mentioned, seem to be somewhat larger diameter that the regular SRP's...somewhat difficult to seat at times, otherwise they go boom consistantly....

They have shown very good chrono numbers (ES & SD) for the long-range crowd around here.

I've had very good results from SRP & SPP. I would love to try some LRP's but I shoot so little it will be awhile before I go through the Federal ones I have.

I will remember to check that the primers are seated as I load. I use a dillon 550 and usually give the primer a pretty good push as it is. I concentrate more on the quality of my ammo than the quantity. I did not expect so many good reviews on the wolf primers. I'm looking forward to getting my order.
