    Bay Area ammo store

So we all know that bay area is seeing a few new FFLs opening with great guns and gear, but I am still seeing a lack of affordable ammo from the gunshops.

Sure, I see stuff in stock, but I hardly get excited about 50 cent a round for 45auto and 40 cent a round for 9mm.

Which stores in the Bay Area can we count on for reasonably priced ammo?

I still remember the days(waaaaay back in 05) of picking up a whole case of PMC 45 auto for 199 out the door from Traders, well I know those days ain't coming back anytime soon.

But can any store in the Bay Area say, "we'll be your viable alternative to Walmart"? I'm hardly a Walmart squatter. But the ammo prices of late has made me waver in my support for local shops. I spend enough on guns, gear, and already was spending a good bit on ammo already.

In a different thread about a new FFL opening, someone mentioned that we all like gunshops but we NEED an ammo shop. It just doesn't make sense when we can't get plinking ammo without going broke. And I know people will say "reload", well we all have jobs and not all of us are awake enough to reload ammo after a day of work.

    Does such a shop exist?

    sigh, let me clarify:

I don't expect gunshops to have Walmart prices, but I am willing to pay extra for the service, to a limit.

The only reason shops have it in stock is because of the high prices.

How could they possibly compete with walmart, especially with the overhead here in the bay area? Not justifying gouging, but we will never see those low prices ever again.

Are there any walmart's that sell ammo in the bay area?

Edit: Just found this thread: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=103875 Guess there's just no walmarts that carry ammo in alameda or contra costa counties.

milpitas, union city, mountain view, and gilroy. I am not 100% sure of the union city store since I haven't been there in 2 years but mountain view and milpitas I know for sure still does.

I'm aware that low prices are not coming back. But gunshops and ammo sellers should be aware of the supply-demand curve.

Union City no longer does. They stopped carrying ammo about a year ago I think. I was in American Canyon's store a week ago and they were stocked with some stuff, but .45 was definitely out. The Milpitas store tends to be out of .45 as well every time I've stopped by there lately.
