Default Bay Area Wal-Mart stores that carry ammo

OK, I am trying to find Wal-Mart stores in the SF Bay Area that carry ammo. I called about 6 and the Customer Service people didn't know if they carried it or transfered me to a number where no one answered...or they said no.

I know there is a thread for this for the SoCal area but I couldn't find anything for NorCal (Bay Area).

Can someone point me to a Wal-Mart store that carries 9mm, .45, and .223 ammo?

I live in the East Bay but work on the Peninsula...so anywhere in between would be great!

You want to go to Milpitas or Santa Clara. In the north East Bay it is Vacaville and Fairfield.

Basically no Wal-Mart in Alameda or Contra Costa sells ammo. Some deal they reached with both counties.

They're ALWAYS out of .223, but they usually have some WWB .45 in stock.

What's the average Wal-Mart price on .45? WWB, or best deal in brass.

The Wal-Marts in Rohnert Park and Windsor both carry ammo, but they may be a bit too far north for you.

I'll swing by Milpitas and maybe Mountain view. I'll ask about other wallmart stores that might have a supply.

This I found to be true - near 880 & 237 in Mcarthy (sp?) Ranch.

They had a bunch of different stuff. I bought some 45acp 230gr fmj Blazer Brass - $15 / box of 50. Nice.

Not as cheap as the reloads at Milwall booth during the show I went to in Vallejo but certainly less expensive than some other places.

I'm in the market for some ammo and the cheapest I found for xm193 is $400 shipped 1k. .40cent

Edit: What's the price for 9mm also?

Hey thx for letting me know the price. Saves me some gas $ driving out there to get an idea of whats in stock and the price. Specially with the gas prices now a days in the BayArea!!!!!

18.5x100= $185 + 15.25tax = $200 OTD. Not to bad, but I've seen some that are comparable in price online and locally.

ammoman.com usually has some decent prices. $200-240 shipped for Speer.

A few months ago I saw $185+tax for Speer CCI 9mm 127gr on sale at Reed's Gun Store (their main store, not the indoor range one).

Any one know if the Milpitas Walmart has .223's instock + price? I really need .223 ammo as I just built my first OLL and got to test my new baby

I thought they had some when I was there today but not sure - not a size I use. Why don't you drive over, pick up some 9mm, then find out? Merge it with some other errands.... just an idea. Certainly would not try to call them, they barely helped me in person.

"Comparable to online prices" would be my description of WM prices....

I am not trying to offend your post. I just don’t want Vallejo (The Bankrupt City) to get any credit for this. They fought the building of a Wal-Mart Supercenter. Now Wal-Mart has pulled the building plan.

I stand corrected!
Whenever I go to the Gun Show in Vallejo, I first stop by the WM down the road and check prices/inventory...

Two Wal-Mart employees at the American Canyon super store insisted over the phone that all Wal-Marts in California sold ammo. So just before a range invitation by a local gun dealer, I stopped by the Martinez store. The clerk there said, No, no Wal-Mart in Contra Costa or Alameda County sells ammo. But I can tell you where to go for some, as there's a gun shop just around the corner from here. But first, he said, I'll call the shop to make sure it's open. Hey, he says into the phone, It's Gino and I'm sending you a customer.

And yeppers. That gun shop was Canyon Sports.

Felt really stupid about 20 minutes later when I met up with the guys from the other gun shop. I should've bought their ammo when I stopped by a few days earlier, when they invited me. One of the guys said, And I bet they charged you a lot more. I guess. Live and learn.
