Where to start (components purchase)?

With the new law on the governors desk, I'm thinking about buying some components to get started reloading at the Cow Palace show on Saturday.

The main calibers I'm looking at are 9mm, 5.56*45 and 7.62*51.

I'm going to start with loading up standard ball type ammo, FMJ, as cheap as it gets...

I'm not afraid of pulled bullets, I'm not looking for match accuracy, just good enough.

I don't think I'll have a hard time finding brass or bullets later. I might by bullets now if I can get good cheap pulled bullets at the Cow Palace.

Can anyone tell me what a reasonable price for pulled FMJ bullets in those calibers would be?

What size primers do I need and what's the going rate? The 5.56 and 7.62 are going in semi-auto rifles so what should I look for?

What's a good, well known, easy to load powder for each of those calibers?

I might reload a little 5.7*28, .45 acp, .475 Linebaugh and .30-06 so powders that would work for multiple calibers would be preferred.

Chances are that you will NOT find pulled bullets at the Cow Palace. Right now, you have to hunt for them at internet vendors. Prices vary so, it's up to you to decide what you are willing to pay for them.

you can get bulk .308 and 5.56 bullets. mil spec from wideners.com. get a few manuals. and read read read

I have not had the chance to thoroughly view the wording of the bill, but in times past it has always been based on primers. When they wanted to tax ammunition they had always put the added tax onto the cost of purchasing primers or any item that contains a primer.

The 45 is large pistol primer
223/5.56 is small rifle primer
30-06 is large rifle primer

not sure about your other calibers.
