How Much Brass for the Stash???

Currently I load for 6mm223(uses 223 brass) and 308. They are fire formed and designated to specific rifles. Current batch is 300 of each. Loads are standard, not hot (6mm223/70grn BTHP 3100fps & 308/155gr Palma BTHP 2810fps). onced used brass is cleaned and goes thru a neck die. I expect I should get 6 or 7 uses. I have three hundred of new brass for each in the Stash your brass closet... Is this enough or should I get more? 300 new match brass usually cost about $90 so getting more is not too bad! Your thoughts...

I shoot 50 to 100 rounds of each every other week on average per caliber.

One can never have too much brass.

For calibers I shoot quite abit, I like having 500-1k on hand. After 5 or so firings, I start buying more. At this point, whenever 243, 7mm08, or 308 is in stock I buy it. I find enough 223 and 30-06 to not have to buy any.

          quoted for emphasis

If you have multiple rifles in popular calibers, by all means, keep a healthy stash on hand.

I try to keep a stash of brass, but I always end up getting bored looking at and turn it into loaded rounds....

A 5 gallon bucket of each caliber you shoot is a good start.

Depends on the rifle. If you are shooting a tight chambered bolt rifle and neck size only, you will get many more loadings than you will with a brass monster like an M14.

I've got about 2000-3000 pieces each of both .223 and .308 brass (once fired Lake City). I'd like to have more.....

Yep, that's what I got in a bolt gun, match tight chamber and I neck size only

I say as much you can get without your wife or girlfriend nagging you for cluttering up the apartment, garage, living room, or wherever you start to collect all that brass/stuff.

Even then, if you keep doing it, they'll eventually get jaded and give up.
