    Reloading press

Hey fellas, what do you think of this press?

I really only need it for sizing, flaring and maybe priming..

A true progressive press for less than the cost of a premium single stage press. Includes Lee 3 die pistol carbide set or 2 die rifle set with short charging die, shell plate, Universal 5 Tube Case Feeder, Deluxe Auto-Drum Powder Measure, automatic primer feed, everything you need to start reloading.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Bought one this year, my first prog. Press. Also have an old Hornady ProJector. I like my.new 4000, however I now realize the more expensive lee press' have a metal case feeder ramp or base platform. I would rather have a metal platform instead of plastic. Powder slash mouth open mech works GREAT. As long as you buy lee powder feed thru dies you just screw you powder drop into the die and adjust. Rockn roll!

A used Lee Pro 1000 will do everything you need, and will be a lot cheaper.
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

I'm not to concerned with priming. It just seems easier to use my hand help primer.

You said "now realize the more expensive lee press' have a metal case feeder ramp or base platform" which press are you referring to, sir?

          Thank you for the info

People say they can load 400-500 rounds an hr but they don't say anything about setup time.

The pro 1000 has a metal carrier that the brass cases slide ? My 4k press has a plastic track for cases to slide on

The breech lock bushings are awesome! Makes set up quicker. Dunno about 400 rounds per hr, but its much faster than my single stage lee!

How much energy would you expel doing a 10 pound dumb bell curl? Not much right. How much energy who you feel you
expelled curling that same dumb bell on the 89th consecutive time with no pauses in between?

Priming by hand is the same thing. The first couple are easy-pee-zee. I hope you get the point. What this boils down to is
consistent pressure during the priming process.

So you either hand prime just a few or you use a mechanical advantage to prime so hand strength is less of a factor with
                  priming consistency.

Priming off the press Redding has no equal. RCBS has this tool. It's usefulness was very controversial in 1979. I didn't see
                  its usefulness until the 1990s.

First time I've seen this guy. I think he speaks from the heart.

I hand primed 750 5.56 cases over the past week using the Frankford Arsenal Hand Primer, Half last Tues and the other half last Friday. It might bother you but it doesn't bother me at all. 5.56 are the worst. Pistol are easy-pee-zee.

Oh boy! That wasn't very nice. I can understand how some folks might have problems using a hand primer. During my years or work I've managed to strengthen my hands, a lot. Even though I've been retired for 7+ years and have osteoarthritis in both hands they're still pretty strong and I have no problems hand priming. I'll do 100 and take a break for 15 or so minutes. When the time comes where I can't hand prime anymore then I'll step down.

I know how you feel. Don't doesn't me at all. Been there.

For 20 years you couldn't give me a RCBS bench mounted priming tool. So I know where you are coming from.

The machine shop dudes tell me to use a force multiplier tool when you can.

Hey fellas, is there anything special that I need to mount this press to my reloading bench ?

One more ? ... Is there a special kick out tray needed for this press. I've looked for the correct one but I just can't find it. I'd appreciate a link to one.

I ordered a new Lee Pro 1000. I don't think it came with anything extra.

                          Thanks guys

Check out Inline Fabrications Ultra Mount. I happen to have the Quick Change mount, with plates for the several presses that I have. Well made, and extremely useful and convenient.

Let me ask you something. I ordered a pro 1000 setup for 45LC. I've got dies for all the calibers I reload. I know I need shells plates for other calibers. I'm just thinking sizing, flaring and maybe priming later on. What else do I need for caliber changes?
